BIRTH

OK
So I meant to start this a while ago - to track our progress.
To bring you up to speed.

Horselover Fat and myself formed the group in September 2012.
We are a 2-piece comprising of Guitar, vox & Drums.

We started with a Lead To Wine cover - an old band of his: a tune that had not been recorded in it's previous incarnation, and one we felt could do with a new lease of life.
Awesome track.

We quickly busted out a bunch of other tunes, experimenting with odd-numbered timings over even-numbered timings; a particularly choppy guitar style, that almost mimics a piano left-hand rhythm and right-hand melody; classic song structure; post-hardcore/cali-rock; and simplicity.

In December 2012, we got Simon Pope-Warrior down to our practice space to record us with his Moto Ultra Light and Mac laptop.
He did an awesome job.
We double-tracked the guitars in early January 2013 using an Alesis iO4 and Acer netbook (that Horselover got for Christmas), and started laying down some vocals.

Horselover had asked some friends to write some poetry for him to use, as he found that live, lyrics weren't a problem - he simply goes with a theme, lets it all out, and it sounds cool.
However, in a recording, the lyrics are hugely highlighted, and he found the lack of concrete words too obvious... some of the poetry (donated by Crazy-Steve Randall) got used, but not all, and not necc. as written.

Horselover took all this home and started to produce it the hell up, using Reaper, and his netbook.
He wants to keep it sounding as live as possible - this is a straightforward, 2-guys-in-a-band type deal.
We are not taking ourselves too seriously.

He also asked some friends to provide cover art, and got a beautiful print from Danno Hunt, which he's making into tee-shirts for y'all.

Thus far, this is the story.

He's planning to put out a taster video etcetera real soon now.

HLF x
